BREAKING: Nigeria Confirms Release Of Soldiers Detained In Burkina Faso, Says Troops Have Arrived Safely In Ghana

Accra, Ghana- Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has confirmed that Nigerian soldiers recently released by authorities in Burkina Faso have arrived safely at an Air Force base in Accra, Ghana.

Tuggar disclosed this while providing an update on the diplomatic efforts that led to the soldiers’ release, assuring Nigerians that the troops are safe and in stable condition following their transfer from Burkina Faso.

In a related development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said a Nigerian military aircraft conveying the freed soldiers and 11 crew members has successfully taken off from Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso.

The ministry, in a statement, commended the coordinated efforts that facilitated the operation, describing it as a product of sustained diplomatic engagement between Nigeria and Burkina Faso.

“Bravo to the Embassy of Nigeria in Burkina Faso and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja,” the statement said, praising officials for their professionalism and swift response in securing the soldiers’ release and evacuation.
