BREAKING: IGP Egbetokun Approves Posting Of New Police Commissioners To Kwara, FCT, Other States

Abuja, Nigeria– The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the provisional posting of new Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), including Kwara, Zamfara, and Taraba.

According to separate police wireless messages dated March 20, 2025, and issued by the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, the postings take immediate effect, pending official approval from the Police Service Commission.

The memos, referenced “TH.5361/FS/FHQ/ABJ/SUB.5/316 and TH.5361/FS/FHQ/ABJ/SUB.5/317: Posting of Senior Officers,” were addressed to various police formations, units, commands, and departments.

In the latest appointments, CP Ojo Adekimi has been assigned to the Kwara State Command, replacing Victor Olaiya.

CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba will now oversee the Zamfara State Command, while COMPOL Bretet Emmanuel Simon has been posted to the Taraba State Command.

Additionally, CP Christopher Ado Emmanuel has been deployed to Yobe State, CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin to Cross River State, and CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman to Niger State. CP Sani Ori Aliyu has been posted to Bauchi, CP Bello Shehu to Katsina, and CP Saka Adewale Ajao will now head the FCT Command.
