The party, however, did not immediately provide reasons for the sudden shift in the election timetable.
Ilorin, Kwara State– The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has announced the postponement of its governorship primary election earlier scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Olawale Babatunde, the ruling party disclosed that the exercise will now hold on Friday, May 22, 2026.
The party, however, did not immediately provide reasons for the sudden shift in the election timetable.
According to the statement, all members of the APC, including aspirants and stakeholders, have been urged to remain calm and conduct themselves in a peaceful and law-abiding manner as the party prepares for the rescheduled exercise.
“The party urges all members, aspirants, and the general public to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding in their conduct,” the statement read.
The postponement comes amid heightened political activities in Kwara State, as contenders jostle for the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
