Ibadan, Oyo State– Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki on Friday with  other distinguished Nigerians narrowly escaped tragedy as their private jet faced a harrowing mishap upon landing at Ibadan Airport in Oyo State.

Ambassador Yahaya Seriki, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara and the Chairman of KURSI Investment Limited.

Pelumi Olajengbesi, a human rights lawyer based in Abuja, disclosed the incident on his verified Facebook page, and emphasized the crucial importance of ensuring the safety of air travel.

According to him; “The paramount concern for the safety of air travel now brings to light the precarious condition of Ibadan Airport’s runway. Urgent action is not just necessary; it is an immediate imperative to avert future catastrophes. Beyond a mere plea for the convenience of airport users, it is a heartfelt demand to protect lives.

“We cannot afford to gamble with the potential repercussions of a delayed response. I earnestly implore the relevant authorities to swiftly close Ibadan Airport temporarily and embark on the essential repairs needed for the runway. Let us prioritize the safety of our citizens and elevate our air travel infrastructure to the highest standards.” he added.

Olajengbesi urged the relevant authorities to promptly temporarily close Ibadan Airport and commence necessary repairs on the runway.

He emphasized the need to prioritize the safety of citizens by elevating air travel infrastructure to the highest standards.
