Kebbi State- The 24 schoolgirls abducted from Government Girls Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, have reportedly been rescued.

TheCable reports that security sources confirmed on Tuesday.

The release of all the kidnapped victims was made possible through the coordinated efforts of officials from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the Department of State Services (DSS).

The operation employed a non-kinetic strategy—focusing on dialogue, negotiation, and confidence-building rather than military force—highlighting the government’s growing preference for resolving mass abduction crises through peaceful means.

Afrika Eyes previously reported that terrorists attacked the Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State in the early hours of Monday, abducting an unknown number of female students and killing at least one staff member.

A school guard was also injured in the assault, which took place around 5:52 a.m.

According to HumAngle, the attackers stormed the school compound while students were preparing for their morning routines, opening fire sporadically during the raid.
