Boko Haram terrorists Strike Yobe Community, Kill Dozens, Burn Houses, Shops

The gunmen left behind some flyers with Arabic inscriptions

Damaturu, Yobe State- Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have launched a deadly attack on Mafa village in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The attackers, armed with sophisticated weapons, killed numerous residents and set ablaze numerous houses abalaze.

This incident occurred just two days after terrorists killed three students at Faudiya School in Geidam Local Government Area, Yobe State.

The spokesperson for the State Police Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria in Damaturu on Monday.

“We are still trying to determine the number of lives lost in the incident, which took place around 4 PM on Sunday in the remote village,” he stated.

“Babagana Goni and Bako Ibrahim, both residents of Mafa, reported the attack to the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Station.

“Suspected Boko Haram terrorists, armed with rifles and RPGs, stormed Mafa Ward on over 50 motorcycles, setting fire to numerous shops and houses.

“The terrorists also killed many people, though the exact number of casualties is yet to be confirmed.”

He added that the gunmen left behind some flyers with Arabic inscriptions.
