Bandits Attack Sokoto Community, Kill 4, 18 Abducted
Seven of the abducted victims managed to escape and return to their community,
Suspected bandits have launched an attack on Giyawa village in the Goronyo Local Government Area of the Sokoto state, killing four persons while 18 others were kidnapped.
Confirming the incident on Thursday, September 14, 2023, ASP Ahmed Rufai, the spokesperson of the state Police Command, stated that the assailants initially abducted eighteen individuals and also looted valuables, including livestock.
He further revealed that seven of the abducted victims managed to escape and return to their community, which had seen many residents fleeing for safety.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) assured that the police are actively pursuing the assailants and working diligently to restore normalcy in the affected community and its surroundings.
