Bandits Abduct Woman In Fresh Midnight Attack On Kwara Community
They came in the middle of the night and started shooting sporadically
Ilorin, Kwara State– Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked Kpankparagi community in Edu Local Government Area, Kwara State, abducting a woman in a midnight raid.
A communuty source told Afrika Eyes that the assailants stormed the village in the early hours of Wednesday, shooting sporadically to create panic before whisking the victim away.
“They came in the middle of the night and started shooting sporadically. They then abducted a woman and left. We do not know if anyone else was taken, but I can confirm that a woman was abducted last night.”
Meanwhile, the Kwara State Police Command has confirmed coordinated attacks by armed bandits on Motokun and Agboro communities in Patigi Local Government Area on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
At Motokun, six residents were abducted, while six others sustained gunshot injuries during the late-night invasion.
Police reported that one of the victims, a woman, later died in hospital, while the remaining injured persons are currently receiving treatment.
The attackers later struck Agboro community, targeting a private company. In the course of the raid, a police officer lost his life in active service, while properties within the company premises were vandalized.
Kwara State Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, said tactical teams have been deployed in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to restore order and ensure the safe rescue of the abducted victims.
Surveillance operations and intensified patrols are ongoing across the affected areas.
The Police Command expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the incident and urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and report any suspicious movement to security agencies.
