Armed Herders Strike Again In Ondo, Kill Five Farmers
The assailants invaded a farming settlement in Aba Oyinbo, Akure North Local Government Area, in the early hours of Wednesday, killing the farmers before fleeing.
Akure, Ondo State – At least five farmers have been killed in Ondo State by gunmen suspected to be armed herders in yet another attack on rural communities.
The assailants invaded a farming settlement in Aba Oyinbo, Akure North Local Government Area, in the early hours of Wednesday, killing the farmers before fleeing.
This latest attack comes just two weeks after over 20 farmers were murdered in a midnight raid on four communities in Ala Elefosan, raising fresh concerns over security in the state.
In response, angry residents took to the streets, storming the Governor’s Office to protest the government’s failure to curb the recurring violence.
However, the demonstrators shut down the office and barricaded major roads, leaving commuters stranded.
Meanwhile, authorities have yet to comment on the attack or the ongoing protests, but tension remains high as residents demand urgent action to stop the killings.
