Angry Kwara Constituents Boo, Chase Lawmaker Ahmed Saba Adam Out Of Tsaragi Over ‘Poor Representation’

Saba was confronted by a hostile crowd accusing him of failing to deliver meaningful representation and neglecting the needs of the people.

Ilorin,  Kwara State – A federal lawmaker representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency in Kwara State, Ahmed Saba Adam, was on Tuesday publicly humiliated, booed, and chased out by angry constituents during a visit to Tsaragi in Edu Local Government Area.

Saba was confronted by a hostile crowd accusing him of failing to deliver meaningful representation and neglecting the needs of the people.

Afrika Eyes gathered that the situation quickly escalated when members of the community began shouting at the lawmaker, forcing him to abandon his engagement.

In a video obtained by Afrika Eyes, groups of aggrieved youths were seen chanting “Ajiya Ole,” a slogan expressing anger and disapproval, as the atmosphere grew increasingly tense.

Eyewitnesses said the lawmaker, also known as Ajiya Shonga, was physically jostled by some youths, while his supporters struggled to shield him from the surging crowd.

The confrontation nearly turned violent before he managed to escape and was hurriedly driven away from the scene.

Residents who spoke to Afrika Eyes described the incident as a reflection of mounting frustration within the constituency.

“He was drowned in chants of rejection. People are tired. There has been no visible impact,” one resident said.

“This is not new,” another local source added. “The same thing happened last year in Shonga, his hometown. He was chased out then too. People are angry because nothing has changed.”
