Amotekun Corps Arrests Suspected Food Supplier To Bandits In Ekiti
Abdullahi reportedly confessed to the crime, stating that he was in the forest reserve as a food supplier to suspected Fulani/Bororo bandits residing in the area.
Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State — Men of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps have arrested a 35-year-old man, Musa Abdullahi, suspected of supplying food and providing courier services to armed bandits and terrorists operating in the state.
This is contained in a statement released by Officer Adeleye Abiodun, Head of the Corps’ Communications Department, who disclosed that Abdullahi, who hails from Sokoto State but resides in Shasha, Akure, Ondo State, was apprehended during a patrol in the Oritan Forest Reserve, Ise Ekiti, on Monday, October 7, 2024.
The arrest took place at around 6:30 p.m., following a tip-off.
The Amotekun operatives had reportedly combed the forest area in response to intelligence that Abdullahi had been aiding bandits by delivering food supplies and other essentials.
During interrogation, Abdullahi reportedly confessed to the crime, stating that he was in the forest reserve as a food supplier to suspected Fulani/Bororo bandits residing in the area.
The suspect, along with several items recovered at the scene, has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Ise-Orun Division in Ise-Ekiti for further investigation.
