Aluko Appreciates Constituents, Says Victory Belongs To The People

Appreciates Olododo for accepting poll results

The House of Representatives candidate-elect for Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Yinka Aluko, has sent his appreciation to all members of his constituency for electing him in the February 25 general elections.

Mr Aluko thanked his wife and children as well as all members of his extended family, particularly the good people of Ikokoro, for standing by his side through thick and thin, especially during the campaign period.

Meanwhile, the newly elected candidate expressed that the victory most importantly belongs to the people who trooped out en masse to cast their votes, therefore ensuring that their votes count.

He appreciated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for a well coordinated, free, fair and credible elections, urging that the March general elections in the state be coordinated in the same manner.

He further expressed his gratitude to his campaign council for the well-organized, issue-based, and seamless campaign led by Hon. Jimoh Ali Yusuf, as well as to his party, the All Progressives Congress, and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for their support, ensuring that candidates of the party emerge victorious.

Mr Aluko who also thanked the security operatives for ensuring that the people conducted themselves peacefully at the polls to curb vote-buying and electoral violence without any record of harassment whatsoever.

He equally shown his gratitude to the traditional institutions, led by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari and spiritual leaders, saying that the election would not have been free and fair without their support and prayers.

He, however, appreciated his opponents from the Social Democratic Party SDP, Hon. Cook-Olododo, and thePeople’s Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Wahab Issa for making the election a credible one, saying ‘no victor, no vanguish’, promising that he would give all members of the constituency, a sense of belonging and work only in the interest of the people.
