Alaafin Of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi Joins His Ancestors At 83
It was learnt that Alaafin died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital, late Friday.
Afrika Eyes gathered that the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Atanda Olayiwola Adeyemi has joined his ancestors.
It was learnt that Alaafin died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital, late Friday.
His remains, according to a source, were moved to Oyo town early Saturday. His first son, Prince ‘Tunde Adeyemi and his other siblings, reportedly received it at Idi-Igba area of the town.
The monarch was 83 before he joined his ancestors.
The head of the Oyomesi, Basorun of Oyo, High Chief Yusuf Akinade Ayoola, is expected to take over the affairs of the palace pending the appointment of a new Alaafin.
The governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde is expected to be briefed officially on Saturday morning by the Basorun
