Akwa Ibom Police Rescue 10 Pregnant Women From Baby Factory

Uyo, Akwa Ibom– The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has rescued 10 pregnant women from a baby factory run by a 56-year-old suspect, Eunice Eze.

It was gathered that the suspect, who runs a baby factory at the World Bank estate in Owerri, was arrested on July 15, 2024, through actionable intelligence.

During a briefing with newsmen at the Police Headquarters in Ikot Akpanabia, Uyo, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Waheed Ayilara, disclosed that the suspect specializes in stealing babies and pregnant women from Akwa Ibom State through her accomplices.

“On 15/7/2024 at about 4:30pm, based on actionable intelligence, one Mrs Eunice Eze ‘f’ age 56yrs was arrested for running a baby factory at World Bank Estate in Owerri,” the CP stated.

“The suspect specializes in stealing babies and pregnant women from Akwa Ibom State through her agent, one Ability Henry Tom. Ten (10) pregnant women were rescued.”

The police boss, however, thanked the state government for their support, sister security agencies and good-spirited members of the public, whose credible and timely information led to the arrest.

He said the command looks forward to a more formidable collaboration from all as it strives to keep Akwa Ibom safer and more peaceful.
