Sarkin Gobir Celebrates Emir Of Ilorin At 85, Hails His Legacy Of Peace, Unity
Ilorin, Nigeria – The Sarkin Gobir of Ilorin Emirate and Wazirin Kasar Hausa, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, on the occasion of his 85th birthday.
In a statement issued on Monday, Alhaji Gobir praised the Emir as “a beacon of leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the peace, unity, and progress of Ilorin Emirate and the nation at large.”
The revered traditional ruler, who also holds the prestigious title of Wazirin Kasar Hausa, described the Emir’s reign as a source of inspiration that continues to uplift the cultural and historical identity of Ilorin.
“His Royal Highness has spent decades embodying the values of integrity, tolerance, and service. His reign has strengthened traditional leadership and has been pivotal in fostering communal harmony within and beyond Ilorin Emirate,” the Sarkin Gobir stated.
“As His Royal Highness marks this remarkable milestone, I join the entire Ilorin Emirate and well-wishers around the world in celebrating a life dedicated to service and dignity,” the statement added.
Alhaji Gobir also prayed for continued divine guidance for the Emir: “I pray Almighty Allah grants him continued good health, strength, and a long, peaceful reign filled with even more accomplishments and divine blessings.”
Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, a retired Justice of the Court of Appeal, ascended the throne in 1995 as the 11th Emir of Ilorin.
Over the past three decades, he has become one of Nigeria’s most respected traditional rulers, widely lauded for his role in promoting peaceful coexistence and preserving the cultural values of the Ilorin people.
