Kwara NSCDC Rescues Kogi Varsity Student Abducted By Suspected Ritualists

Ilorin, Kwara State- Operatives of the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have  rescued Fauziyah Muhammed, a 19-year-old 400-level student of Kogi State University, Anyingba, who was kidnapped by suspected ritualists.

Fauziyah, an English Education undergraduate, was abducted outside the university campus and reportedly hypnotised by her captors.

The state commandant of the NSCDC, Dr. Umar Muhammed, stated that the victim was found wandering in a confused state in the Ajegunle-Isale community on Egbejila Road in Ilorin.

According to Muhammed, Fauziyah was discovered naked, displaying signs of trauma, including incoherent speech, likely resulting from her harrowing experience with the kidnappers.

Muhammed said, “Fauziyah was found wandering in the Egbejila area in Ilorin when concerned neighbours alerted the community leaders, who promptly handed her over to the NSCDC.

“Upon receiving the victim, we launched an investigation and established that she had been abducted in Kogi State but somehow got stranded in Ilorin.

“We, as a command, have tried to comfort her with clothings as well as brief the governor of her plight,” he said.

Meanwhile, the victim has been reunited with her uncle, Mallam Salihu Aliu, who thanked the NSCDC for their prompt response.

In an interview with journalists, Fauziyah stated that she could not remember how she arrived in Kwara State.

“One of the books I was carrying fell, and as I bent down to pick it up, I lost consciousness,” she explained.
