Lagos Pastor Arrested For Allegedly Murdering, Burying 17-Year-Old In Shallow Grave

The victim’s body was discovered buried in a shallow grave within an apartment on Jesus Assembly Omoguwa Street in Ejigbo.

Ikeja, Lagos State- The Lagos Police Command has arrested Pastor Anthony Kwamboli, 30, of Jesus Disciples Assembly Church, for allegedly killing 17-year-old Adeolu Olubade.

The victim’s body was discovered buried in a shallow grave within an apartment on Jesus Assembly Omoguwa Street in Ejigbo.

It was gathered that the crime took place between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on September 2, 2024, with the suspect allegedly slitting Olubade’s throat while he was asleep before concealing the body.

According to Punch, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the incident on Thursday, September 12. He reported that the grieving family has identified a 30-year-old suspect as responsible for the crime.

“On September 3, 2024, around 8:00 am, a relative of the deceased reported to the station that his 17-year-old cousin had been found dead and buried in one of the rooms on Jesus Assembly Street, Omoguwa Street, Ejigbo,” stated the PPRO.

“The family suspected that the crime was committed by a 30-year-old resident of the same address between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Following this report, a team of detectives was dispatched to the scene, where they photographed the shallow grave before exhuming the body.

“The corpse has been transported to Isolo General Hospital for a postmortem examination. The suspect has been apprehended, and the shovel believed to have been used to bury the victim has been recovered, registered as evidence at the station.”

Hundeyin added that the suspect will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Unit at Alagbon for further investigation.
