The attackers stormed the home of Mr. Mutiu Adeleke, kidnapping his wife and three sons while leaving him behind.
Kaduna State– In the early hours of Thursday, bandits attacked Mani village in Rido Ward, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, abducting at least 22 people.
It was reported that the bandits stormed the community in large numbers while the residents were still asleep. They began shooting and then moved from house to house, abducting people.
In a separate incident, bandits attacked Dan Honu II, New Millennium City, also in Chikun Local Government Area, where they abducted a nurse and her three sons.
The attackers stormed the home of Mr Mutiu Adeleke, kidnapping his wife and three sons while leaving him behind.
A source revealed, “The incident occurred around 10 p.m. when the gunmen invaded the community, firing shots indiscriminately without facing any resistance before abducting the victims.”
The source added that Mrs Adeleke, unable to keep up with the bandits, was abandoned in the bush and has since returned home. However, her three sons were taken.
“Mr. Adeleke had planned to relocate following the recent kidnapping of two journalists. He secured a new apartment in a safer area just two days prior to the attack,” the source continued.
At the time of the attack, Mr. Adeleke and his family were in the process of moving their belongings from Dan Honu II, with plans to complete the move by the coming weekend.
Attempts by SaharaReporters to confirm the incident with the police spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls or messages.
