UNICEF Commends Kwara Govt For Excellence In Primary Health Care Delivery
UNICEF for its substantial contributions to the state’s health sector
Ilorin, KWARA STATE– The United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has extended its commendations to the Kwara State Government for its outstanding performance in the delivery of Primary Health Care (PHC) services.
Kwara State has been ranked as the topmost performer in PHC Delivery, marking a significant achievement in the partnership between the state and the international organization.
Dr. Ahmed Baba, the Chief Field Officer of UNICEF in Kaduna, expressed this praise during the UNICEF Mid-Year Review Meeting held in the state capital, Ilorin.
He commended the state government’s dedication to improving the welfare of vulnerable individuals and disadvantaged groups, emphasizing the importance of their collaboration with UNICEF.
Dr. Baba called upon the Kwara State Government to maintain its commitment to enhancing the living conditions of its people.
He also assured continued support from UNICEF in the state’s efforts to combat malnutrition, poverty, and other challenges, particularly among children and vulnerable populations.
In response, the state’s representatives, including Dr. Yaqub Umar Jaja, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, praised the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for its commitment to eradicating malnutrition and poverty.
Dr. Jaja lauded UNICEF for its substantial contributions to the state’s health sector and its unwavering dedication to the well-being of children and vulnerable groups.
Furthermore, the Executive Secretary of the Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Nusirat Elelu, highlighted the importance of the Mid-Year Review Meeting in assessing UNICEF’s interventions and identifying challenges for future planning. She emphasized Kwara State’s continuous commitment to its partnership with UNICEF and the positive impact it has had on improving Primary Health Care Delivery.
