Gov. Otti Condemns Abia LP Chieftain’s Killing, Orders Probe

He was shot at a local drinking establishment in the Amelechi Akpukpa community and then dragged across the floor

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has strongly condemned the brutal killing of Mr Maduka Zakari, a prominent figure within the Labour Party.

Mr Zakari, a 70-year-old leader within the Labour Party, met a horrific end on September 13th in Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of the state at the hands of unidentified assailants.

According to reports, he was shot at a local drinking establishment in the Amelechi Akpukpa community and then dragged across the floor before being gruesomely beheaded, with his head taken by his attackers.

In response to this shocking act, Governor Otti, in a statement issued by Mr Ferdinand Ekeoma, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, on Friday, expressed his outrage at the murder of Mr Zakari, describing it as insane, barbaric, and vicious.

Governor Otti called upon security agencies from various departments to ensure that all those involved in the killing, whether directly or indirectly, are swiftly brought to justice and face severe consequences for their heinous actions.

The governor also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Mr Zakari, highlighting his remarkable contributions as the Labour Party’s campaign manager in Uturu during the last general election.

He assured Mr Zakari’s family that the government would provide them with unwavering support as they navigate this tragic loss.
