Having Effective LG Administration Will Reduce State Govt Burden- Hakeem Lawal

My administration will conduct local government election

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) Governorship Candidate in Kwara State, Alhaji Hakeem Lawal has stated that his administration would conduct local government election within one year, if elected come 2023.

Hakeem Lawal gave this commitment on Friday during Interactive Session with Community leaders, Artisans, Opinion leaders, Transporters, Business owners and other stakeholders held at Ijagbo, Oyun local government of Kwara State.

According to him: “If elected as the Gov of this state, my administration will conduct local government election before we celebrate one year in office, that’s a promise”.

He noted that local government administration plays critical role in driving grassroots development being the closet tier of government to the people.

According to him, having effective and active local government would reduce burden of the state government in providing basic amenities to different communities. The local government officials will understand the best way to solve problem affecting their people.

Hakeem Lawal also pledged to ensure the 16 local government areas in the state ensure autonomy in terms of revenue generation and allocation from federal government to make them function effectively.
