Abuja, Nigeria– The Federal government on Wednesday engaged in discussions with the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Union and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to address the strike that has gripped the nation.

The pivotal meeting is currently in progress at the office of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, as both parties seek common ground to bring an end to the protracted labor unrest.

The Minister of Labour, Simon Bako Lalong, Minister of State Hon. Nkeiruka Onyeajeocha  are in attendance.

Labour leaders led by TUC President Comrade Festus Osifo, NLC Secretary General Emmanuel Ugboaja and other Labour leaders are also in attendance. The Labour unions embarked on a strike action on November 14 over the assault of NLC President, Joe Ajaero, in Imo state on November 1.
