Lokoja, Kogi State– Soldiers on election duty in Kogi State‘s Igalamela local government area made a startling seizure in the early hours of Saturday morning,  arrest a council chairman and several All Progressives Party (APC) supporters.

Thee soldiers also uncovered a substantial cache of ammunition and millions of naira in cash.

The impounded cash was reported to be in the millions of naira,  concealed within multiple ‘Ghana-must-go’ bags.

They allegedly admitted that the funds were intended for distributing among voters across various polling stations in the local government area and Idah during the governorship election.

Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya Bello and his team are working to free the suspects, although attempts to relocate them to the state capital are being resisted by military authorities, who are adamant about keeping the suspects with the seized items until after the election.
