NLC President, Joe Ajaero, Arrested During Protest In Imo

Owerri, Imo State– The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, was arrested on Wednesday in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, in a surprising turn of events.

Ajaero was picked up from the NLC State Council Secretariat on November 1 by heavily armed police officers and taken to an undisclosed location.

The arrest took place while the NLC was leading a statewide protest and strike in Owerri, aimed at addressing various grievances, including the lack of respect for workers’ rights and unpaid salaries.

The NLC has been advocating for the rights and welfare of workers in the state, and the protest was organized to voice concerns over the ongoing issues.
