Gunmen Storm Ora Community In Kwara, Abduct Two
They abducted two persons and shot one to death on the spot
Ilorin, Kwara State– Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers invaded the Ora community in Ifelodun Local Government of Kwara State and abducted two persons.
It was gathered that the assailants stormed the area wielding AK-47 rifles shot sporadically and unleashed fear and chaos when they descended upon the community.
An eyewitness, Ahmed Akande, described how a group of gunmen entered the community on WhatsApp group around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2023, with a barrage of gunfire.
Ojutole TV reported, “They abducted two persons and shot one to death on the spot.”
However, an elder statesman in the state, Mr Oyin Zubair, informed that soldiers had arrived in the vicinity of Ora to restore peace. They were actively searching the surrounding bushes to apprehend the criminals and rescue the kidnapped victims.
“We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the swift response to the SOS message sent to the state authorities regarding this incident. Our prayers are with the success of these efforts,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Kwara State police command spokesperson, Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed the incident to Afrika Eyes on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
“The command in conjunction with other security agencies including vigilantes and hunters are hot in the search and rescue of the victims and possible arrest of the abductors of the Ora kidnap incident of yesterday night.” he said
