BREAKING: Fire Engulfs National Centre For Agricultural Mechanisation In Kwara

Ilorin, KwaraState – The National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) along the Ajase-Ipo Road in Kwara State was engulfed by a devastating fire on Monday night, reportedly starting from one of the bedrooms in the quarters.

The spokesperson of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, confirmed the incident on Tuesday, said that firemen swiftly responded to a distress call received around 7 pm, rushing to the scene to combat the fierce blaze that raged for over an hour.

“We battled to put the fire out from causing further damage to the property and adjoining structures in the estate.”

“The Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade Olumuyiwa, advises residents and property owners in the state to install and regularly maintain appropriate fire safety measures to avoid similar incidents in the future.

“Some of these installations should include surge protectors, circuit breakers and fire extinguishers.”

He, however, advised raising awareness about fire safety protocols in the state which can also prevent such occurrences.
