Police Arrest 3, Rescue Abducted Students, FUG Staff In Zamfara
The Command urges the good citizens of Zamfara State to continue supporting the efforts of the police
Gusau, Zamfara State – Operatives of the Zamfara State Police Command have rescued two abducted students and a staff member of the Federal University, Gusau, who were forcibly taken at gunpoint by gunmen on the evening of October 14, 2023.
The incident occurred at about 8:00 PM when a group of armed men, suspected to be bandits, forcefully entered a rented student residence on the outskirts of Sabon Garin Damba.
In a statement by the Police command spokesperson, ASP Yazid Abubakar, said the Zamfara State Police Command, under the vigilant leadership of Commissioner of Police Mohammed Shehu Dalijan (PSC FSI), swiftly activated its striking force for a comprehensive search and rescue operation.
“We are pleased to report that the efforts of the Command have yielded a successful and positive outcome, as all the victims were rescued unharmed, while three of the abductors were apprehended.
Mr Abubakar said operations are still ongoing to apprehend other fleeing abductors.
“Under the capable leadership of Commissioner of Police Mohammed Shehu Dalijan (PSC FSI), the Zamfara State Police Command remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding lives and property throughout the state, including the provision of a conducive atmosphere for learning process, ensuring the safety and security of educational institutions,” the statement read.

He added that their cooperation is invaluable as the Command and the community work together to rid our dear state of all forms of criminality.
