22-Year-Old Woman Arrested For Allegedly Stabbing Husband To Death In Yobe
She revealed that their marriage had been fraught with violence, particularly when she asked for food or money.
Damaturu, Yobe State -Operative of Yobe State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old woman named Zainab Isa for allegedly stabbing her 25-year-old husband, Ibrahim Yahaya, to death in Abbari Ward, the state capital.
In a statement released by command’s spokesperson, DSP Dungus Abdulkareem, said that Zainab claimed she did not intend to kill her husband but acted in self-defense.
He explained that the C Divisional Police Headquarters received a report from a neighbor in Abbari Ward about a violent altercation between the couple.
According to the statement, “The argument escalated, and Zainab reportedly stabbed Ibrahim in the chest with a knife. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries before the police arrived.
The suspect was taken to the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for a thorough investigation and will be charged in court.
“In her confession, Zainab claimed she did not intend to kill her husband but acted in self-defense.
“She revealed that their marriage had been fraught with violence, particularly when she asked for food or money. This pattern of abuse continued even after the birth of their first child and the arrival of their second, despite her husband’s inability to support the family,” he said.
