Gunmen Kidnap Five Female Varsity Students In Katsina
Among the kidnapped students, two were in their final year of study, hailing from Kano and Nasarawa states.
Katsina State, Nigeria – Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted five female students from the Federal University, Dutsinma (FUDMA), in Katsina State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, October 4, 2023, when the assailants invaded the off-campus dormitories behind Mariamoh Ajiri Memorial School, Dutsinma, along Tsaskiya road.
According to reports, among the kidnapped students, two were in their final year of study, hailing from Kano and Nasarawa states.
Habibu Umar Aminu, the head of the Public Relations Unit at the university, confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday.
He assured the public that the university administration, in collaboration with relevant authorities, was actively engaged in efforts to secure the safe release of the abducted students.
Katsina State Police Command’s spokesperson, ASP Sadiq Aliyu Abubakar, confirmed the incident and revealed that one person suspected of providing information to the kidnappers had been apprehended.
