Akure, Ondo State – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Ondo State have arrested two persons suspected of being part of a child trafficking syndicate.

The suspects are accused of luring young girls to Libya, allegedly for prostitution.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Babatunde Oluwasola, also known as ‘Osanle,’ and Fowowe Dada, the arrests were made following a report of a missing 15-year-old girl, who was discovered to have been relocated to Libya as part of this illegal operation.

A statement released by Aidamenbor Daniel, the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC in Ondo State, revealed that Babatunde Oluwasola, a carpenter hailing from Osun State but residing in Akure, played a central role in this heinous act.

“The victims who travelled through the desert to Libya called Mr. Babatunde through the agent that received them two weeks after their departure from Akure, Ondo State to intimate him of their arrival at Libya,” the spokesperson said.

“The victim, a 15-year-old girl until her departure, lived with her parents in Akure. She had left without telling anyone about her journey.
