Ondo Police Rescue 8 Abducted Victims On Owo/Ifon/Benin Expressway

Akure, ONDO STATE,– The Ondo State Police have rescued eight of the 25 people who were abducted along the perilous Owo/Ifon/Benin expressway on Friday, September 29.

The Public Relations Officer for the Ondo State Police Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the rescue during a briefing with the press.

She disclosed that the valiant efforts of the state’s law enforcement officers led to the safe recovery of eight of the abducted victims, adding that every possible measure is being undertaken to ensure the safe return of the remaining hostages.

The kidnapped victims, identified as members of the Choir of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Oke Igan in Akure, the state capital, fell victim to the criminal act near Elegbeka village while en route to Ifon to attend a funeral ceremony.

The image maker said in collaboration with relevant agencies, will continue their relentless efforts to secure the freedom of the remaining hostages, ensuring their return to their families unharmed.
