15-Year-Old Cattle Rearer Killed By Kidnappers In Ogun Despite N500,000 Ransom

The suspects, all in their early twenties, have been transferred to the Imala Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation.

Abeokuta, Ogun State- A 15-year-old cattle rearer, Yahu Muhammad, has been killed by a gang of kidnappers in Ogun State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred in the Akara Forest, located in the Imala axis of the state.

According to reports, Yahu Muhammad was herding cattle in the forest when he was abducted by the gang.

Despite the kidnappers receiving a ransom of N500,000, Muhammad’s life was claimed by his captors.

Soji Ganzallo, Commander of the So-Safe Corps, issued a statement through Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, the Director of Information and Public Relations, disclosed that three suspects in a recent kidnapping case have been arrested.

The suspects, all in their early twenties, have been transferred to the Imala Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation.

The suspects are identified as Umar Muhammad, 24; Audu Muhammad, 22; and Umar Danda, 22.

According to the statement, “The kidnapping of Muhammad occurred on Saturday, September 7, 2024. Information about the incident reached the Imala Division of the Corps around 7 p.m., prompting the deployment of the Corps’ Special Squad to rescue the victim.

“Unfortunately, upon reaching the kidnappers’ hideout at Olodo Karaoke on the Anigbado-Idiemi Road, the operatives found the victim’s lifeless body. The cattle previously under the victim’s care were found wandering in the forest.”

He added that the victim’s body, along with the suspects, has been handed over to the Imala Police Division for further investigation and potential prosecution.
